I love avocados. Like really really love them. It’s one of those loves where if I meet someone who doesn’t like avocados I almost want to say I can’t be friends with them. Not that I’ve done that.
One of my favorite things to eat is mashed avocado on toast. This avocado pasta is a similar idea. The creamy sauce comes together easily in a food processor.
I especially love the summery green color of this dish. I paired it with some bacon since avocado and bacon go so well together. I guess if you want to go a healthier route, you could probably pair it with tomatoes.
Speaking of healthy, I’ve been using the Fitbit for a few months now and I’ve come to the conclusion that their 10,000 steps daily goal is really hard to achieve. When we were on vacation it was easy to rack up those steps since we spent the entire day walking around doing touristy things. But it takes me nearly 2 hours of continuous walking to walk 10,000 steps, which is a huge chunk out of the day! I can see people who live downtown and can easily walk to places or take public transportation might be able to achieve the 10,000 steps goal, but I’m not one of those people so this Fitbit goal is pretty unrealistic. I wish there was a way to adjust it so I don’t feel so bad when I view my stats.
Back to this pasta. This pasta is for the serious avocado lover. It’s pretty much pure avocado, with a little seasoning and oil to make it less chunky and add some more flavor. It’s super easy to make and I’ll be making it again soon.

This pasta is for the serious avocado lover. This creamy avocado pasta with bacon is ready in less than 30 minutes for an easy meal that is perfect for summer.
- 6 oz uncooked pasta
- 3 strips of bacon
- 1 1/2 ripe avocados pit and skin removed
- 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
On the stove, bring water in a pot to boil and add in pasta, cooking to the desired doneness. Drain and set aside. In a pan, cook bacon to desired doneness. Chop bacon to bite-sized pieces.
In a food processor or blender, add remaining ingredients. Blend on high speed until creamy sauce forms. Add salt and pepper as needed and mix again. If you would like a more liquid sauce, you can add a little more olive oil. I preferred mine to be thicker.
Toss pasta, avocado sauce, and bacon. Serve immediately.
